Sunsets and missed oppurtunities

"There will be times when you will be in the field without a camera. And, you will see the most glorious sunset or the most beautiful scene that you have ever witnessed. Don't be bitter because you can't record it. Sit down, drink it in, and enjoy it for what it is!" DeGriff

Much of the last month has been just that for me. It's been nice break to step away from the camera, but I found myself day dreaming about photography. I'm always approaching everyday situations and thinking about how I would shoot it or what I can do to make it look different.

You're right. Last weekend I went on my last backpacking trip in Denali. After thinking about it awhile, I decided not to take the camera. I wanted to experience the place, not look at it through a window. There were photo ops, but no regrets.

I wish I had more inspiration, passion, and motivation for photography like you do. I feel like it's there within me and I really do love it, I just don't know how to pull it out.
