I headed south for a few hours to see a good friend of mine. I love my friends so much and probably take them for granted. Here is to the best group of guys I have ever met!

Welcome to the Mariens

I feel like I really made some storytelling photographs at Ashley's wedding. Despite almost all of their tuxedos being the wrong size surprisingly nothing else went astray and if you can't tell from this picture I think they enjoyed their wedding day.

Finding Hope In What Has Light

I love baseball. Every aspect of it represents summer. The smell of the freshly cut grass, sunburns, sunflower seeds, tailgating, and who can for get the feeling of wearing nylon pants in 80 degree weather. I like the feature photo's I took but sports didn't care for them so I leave you with this for now until I have time to update with more.

The summer seems to be moving faster and faster even though the weather doesn't seem to be changing. I took a walk through the park the other day to clear my head. I really went out hoping to make something graphic, but the light just wasn't there. So as I was getting in my car the sunlight came out from behind the clouds before gracefully falling into the horizon giving me enough time to find a single photo for the night.

Working through the gitters

Saying I was nervous can't describe the emotions that were going through me on Saturday when I freelanced for The Midland Daily. 

My assignment was to shoot spring football at Northwood University. The whole day I felt sick to my stomach and I was doing my best to keep myself calm but nothing was really helping. I wanted to impress them. I wanted to break out of my shell and produce an outstanding image. 

Above is what I came out with. As Kevin said it's ok, but not mind blowing. I agree but I just wish I knew how to make those images I see everyone else producing. I've been shooting for a full year now and I see myself getting there but I can't help feel frustrated with myself at the same time.

The ride to the CM Life Banquet.

This is from the 80's Prom and there is just something I enjoy about this photo even though it is centered.

By far the best costumes at the 80's Prom Party goes to Chris and Laura. And how can you go to prom without having your photo taken in those really awkward poses right in front the of the door right?

The start of summer came and ended so quickly for me. The CM Life Banquet, followed by staying up till god knows when drinking, and watching Scrubs, to the 80's prom party which resulted in broken tables a lot of laughs and memories.

Unfortunately I have to grow up and be an adult. My work schedule is crazy these next few weeks and I start classes on Monday. The worst part is this terrible cold/sinus stuff that will not go away. Off to the paper to finish the brochure, then I'm to the liquor store to work until close.

A first attempt and failure at fashion

These were my favorite. I don't know what makes a good fashion photo and I had the worst time trying to figure out how these should be toned. So I toned them to the way I like, and I'm sure they would could look better, and I'm sure I have images that some would argue are better. But for now you get these.

So close and so far away

Summer finally arrived in Michigan. A few days late but at least it is here. My life and schedule have come full swing and smacked me in the face. School is not going well. Well school is fine, but my photo classes are not. Again I find myself so frustrated with not being where I need to be. My photo skills are improving, but they are just not where I want them.

I'm growing I guess.
I'm slowly seeing my work turn for the better, but it isn't turning fast enough. Which leaves me to question do I have the vision? I can pick out a great photo when it comes to editing. But when I feel like I don't see those photo's that everyone else takes.

CM Life
I will selected as the Photo Editor for the Summer and Fall. I'm excited and have a lot plans/changes for this paper. I just hope I can keep the balance between work and school. The end of this semester is so close but I just can't seem to ever get out of the office, or get my school work done.

If I finish my history paper I will give you some sweet fashion stuff tonight. If I don't finish you will have to wait until tomorrow.
